Cloud Services changing the face of Photographic Businesses
After 8 years working for someone else two photographers broke out and started their own partnership and studio – One Life Photography. We set ourselves up in business 14 months ago, with the aim of offering broad range of high quality photography around family, makeovers, wedding and portrait needs.
We were paper-based up to now, which got messy with all the changes, added notes etc. This was hard to share and prone to mistakes. We’re a small young team so there’s an expectation from new staff members that you have electronic business tools for such things.
We could have been looking at spending thousands of pounds to get a bespoke databases made, one that would always need expensive updates, the world’s changed now, so we looked for online solution that was affordable. We choose icomplete.com because it is web-based, can use from anywhere + SIMPLE, really easy to get the hang of. We’re much more organised – it’s brought everyone together as an efficient and happy team!
What we really like about the service which helps our business is the calendars section,
we really like the layers, we use the colour coding to move from unconfirmed to confirmed bookings, from grey to green – really easy to see where we need to chase people up. It’s really easy to see the wood for the trees now in terms of planning our week and day. Also we can add new Calendar layers as we need them.
Plus on the database side, the Custom Fields are great we can extend the things we track and ask clients about ourselves, without the need to go back to a database programmer! So it will grow with us and save us time and money.
It took about a week to load data, setup and cross over from our old paper system.
We’re very happy with the level of care as we crossed over, all our questions were answered and icomplete call us to check-in on us a couple of times as we got going, nice touch from a software company. Been brilliant, Superb!
